Ode to a Flat Iron...

Then God said, "Maggie...this is a flat iron." ...and I was saved!

I thought I'd share this picture from days gone by... it may be an older picture, but the hair is still MY HAIR!!! Yes, I get out of the shower... this is my hair. I get caught in a storm... this is my hair. I visit Manhattan in August... THIS IS MY HAIR!!! (the humidity is a killer!)

So for you casting directors who need a '1980's Valley Girl' or an 'East Coast Italian Girl'... then I'M YOUR GIRL. Trust me, with this hair comes attitude... (hey one has to 'own' it if one is to 'wear' it!)... and I do! Meanwhile, please enjoy!

Flat Iron, oh Flat Iron...

With you, I am free!

Free from frizz and being curly.

Free from the 'Medusa Hair' that I fear,

Free from the birds who want to nest here.

Free from the mist that makes it all static,

With you, oh Flat Iron, I am ecstatic!

Gone is the huge 3-foot wide 'do,

And all of the doorways I couldn't get through.

I cursed my mother about it for years,

Who knew my own daughter would cry her own tears?

Together we face the storm we call 'hair',

Flat Iron don't break... oh don't you dare!

So Flat Iron, I thank you from the bottom of my curls...

Another day with that hair...and I would've hurled.

My Dream Team

My head shots shoot went great and I can't say THANK YOU enough to my fabulous 'Dream Team'!!! My photographer, Sandy Spear is OUTSTANDING!!! Susan Duttenhofer, my Stylist (pictured)... I just couldn't do it without her! Thanks to both of them for being so amazing every time... the professionalism, sincerity and ability to put me at ease is appreciated!

Ready to ROCK!

Shooting my new head shots today with my 'dream team'! I'm 30 lbs thinner and READY TO ROCK! Wish me luck in getting 'the shot'...it's gorgeous in San Diego today and I'm shooting outdoors. I prefer natural lighting over studio lighting, so I'm thrilled the sun came out today!

SEEING... is believing!

There is something to be said for 'seeing'... seriously! My vision has been diminishing for the last decade. So what do I do? I just go buy heavier prescription over-the-counter glasses, of course! Ya... don't do that, just sayin'.

My sight is CRAP now and I have recently been researching Lasik surgery. Ironically, a San Diego radio station started a contest for free Lasik surgery with a very reputable doctor and I jumped on it. The jist was you posted your picture and people had to vote, the picture with the most votes wins. Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy!

Lo' and behold... one week later... I WON!!! Just too awesome, right?! Of course THIS is the picture that I posted... I figured the goofier, the better. What?! Think I'm afraid to be 'silly'? Think I'm afraid to be 'fugly'?! THINK AGAIN! I'm as goofy as that picture and guess what... soon I'll be a goofy girl who can SEE!!! Woo-hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

So a special shout out to Jagger and Kristi of Magic 92.5 FM for running the contest and to Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center for offering the free procedure!

Reading scripts... an important part of the success process in Hollywood... just FYI. ;)

What a Difference a Year Makes...

Most anyone can say that, really... I know. But if you knew the changes that have occured in my life over this last year, you'd be amazed! Changes physically, changes professionally, changes personally and changes in process... THANK GOD I'm such an advocate for CHANGE! (flippin' Gemini...that's why!) I am happy to report that most of my changes have been positive! I can't remember the last time life has been so...easy? Well maybe that's not the right word...ummmmm... fortunate?! YES! Fortunate...that's the word!

I've done it by the way... my new headshots are being done on June 13th with my 'dream team'! Ya, I threw in 3/4 shots this time too... I'm feeling confident enough to do full body pictures. What a change! :)~

Oh Babyyyyyyyyy

Just saw previews for 'The Fugitive Chronicles' last night on A&E ...the show is airing in April (not May as noted previously). I'll let you know when my episode airs!

Sooooooo...I know I sound like a broken record but I really AM going to book that headshot shoot! I've lost a total of 30-lbs, I'm a perfect size 5, my hair is at the perfect length and color...I don't know, I think it's TIME!

Short and sweet today...'cause LAWD knows I can babble!

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack...

I know, I know! It's been a while since I've blogged, but don't forget...I was on a mission! SO now I'm ready to book my headshot reshoot and I CAN'T WAIT!!! :)

There have been a lot of changes in my life since I've blogged last. Life is good and I'm excited to get back out and audition again as soon as my shoot is done.

Guess what? Previews of The Fugitive Chronicles are playing and I'm really excited about the show airing in May on A&E!
