A Quickie...

Just a quickie update as it's been awhile since I've blogged. (what were you thinking this was about?!)

I'm still updating the 'look'...but I have to say...I'm doing great! I've lost a bunch of weight, my hair is shorter and lighter (something my booking agent has been on me about!), and things are just about where I want them for my headshots reshoot. Hey...these things take time.

In the meantime...I continue my quest to bring things into my life that rock...so far so good! :)

My latest note from the Universe:

Any attempt to measure one's progress in life with an assessment of their present physical surroundings, or even a panoramic glance at their life and times to date, is just plain "whacked." The reason being, Maggie, is that each journey, kind of like a haircut, should never be fully appraised until it's complete. Otherwise, one might mistaken a miracle-in-the-making for a setback, loss, or the "wet-look."
Your cosmic barber and de-whacker, The Universe

Seriously...LOVE IT! :)

    Hi Maggie!

I just read your entire blog and I love it! You inspire me so much, seriously, what you are doing is my dream!

Have you been on any auditions lately?

I'm almost 18 years old and I want to become an actress sooooo bad but my parents are against it. They would rather see me work a regular job. OMG, the thought of me working a 9-5 job bores me to tears!

I read that you are getting new headshots soon...how much do good headshots cost?

Do you have to work another job to afford all of the expenses, like you know, headshots, hair, make-up, traveling...or are you making enough from your acting jobs to pay for it all?

My parents don't want to give me any money to help pay for this stuff but I need to tell them that it's so worth it right? :-)

Please give me any advice you can! You are so beautiful and talented! How do you do it all?

    Love,

    Sandra

  2. Sandra...I am SO sorry for the long DELAY in replying to your fabulous comments!!! I appreciate EVERYTHING you said and I have to tell you this...live your life for YOU! I have lived my life for ME...even when I put my career on hold to raise my kids, I knew that I was doing what I wanted to do. Now I'm back to pursuing my dream. DON'T WAIT!!! What you should do is research headshots photographers in your area (websites with PICTURES!!!). Put money away here and there...do what you can but get your headshots...they are your calling card. You can expect to spend anywhere from $300 - $500, but you can shop. I have a photographer here in San Diego that is phenomenol and affordable! No one will see you without them so that is your FIRST investment. Get on actors websites and start promoting yourself. Be sure that you educate yourself OTHER than acting...you want something to fall back on and support you through your pursuit. I wish you LUCK and FORTUNE in your career!!! Maybe we'll work together one day. Thank you again for your kind words...and keep Following Me To Hollywood! xo, Mags
